How It Works

Our Land Clearing & Demolition Process

Every project follows a proven sequence — from your first call through the final grade. Here's exactly what happens when you hire Texas Ace Land Clearing.

1

Free Site Assessment

The process begins with a free on-site visit. Fred walks the entire property with you to understand your goals — what needs to come out, what stays, and what the finished product should look like. He looks for buried utilities, septic systems, drainage features, specimen trees you want preserved, and any access constraints that affect equipment selection.

At the end of the walkthrough, Fred provides a written estimate on the spot. No waiting days for a quote, no vague ranges. You'll know the price before any equipment rolls. For demolition projects, this includes identifying any hazardous materials concerns and confirming utility disconnection requirements before work begins.

2

Project Planning & Equipment Selection

Once a project is booked, Fred selects the right combination of machines from the Texas Ace fleet based on the specific conditions of your property. Dense hardwood timber calls for the CAT 314D excavator with Dymax tree shear. Lighter brush and cedar is handled faster with the Hydro-Ax forestry mulcher on the CAT 275 or 299D2. Site prep and demolition typically involves the D4K2 dozer, compact track loaders, and the grapple attachment for debris handling.

For demolition projects, this phase also includes coordinating utility disconnections with the relevant providers and confirming burn permit status with the local county if material will be burned on-site. Texas Ace handles all of this communication directly so you don't have to chase it down yourself.

3

Clearing & Demolition

Equipment arrives at the property on time — Fred loads and hauls his own machines using the gooseneck lowboy trailer, so there's no third-party transport delay. Work begins at the agreed start time and continues all day. Fred works systematically across the site, completing one section fully before moving to the next, so you can always see clear progress.

For land clearing, vegetation is felled and processed in the most efficient sequence for your site. Trees are sheared or felled, brush is mulched or cut, stumps are ground or extracted, and debris is handled by the method agreed during the estimate — chipping, mulching in place, burning (where permitted), or loading for haul-off. For demolition, structures are carefully dismantled using the excavator and grapple, with materials sorted and managed responsibly. Concrete slabs are broken up and either buried in approved areas or hauled off depending on your preference.

4

Grading & Final Cleanup

After all vegetation or structures are removed, Fred brings in the dozer and power box rake to smooth the surface, remove surface roots, and establish a clean grade. For site prep projects, this grade is matched to the drainage plan or building pad specifications provided by your engineer or builder. For residential clearing, the goal is a flat, debris-free surface that's ready for seeding, fencing, or construction.

Texas Ace doesn't leave until the job looks right. That means no stumps poking through the grade, no piles of slash left behind, no rutted equipment tracks — just a clean, usable piece of land. When Fred's done, you do a final walkthrough together, and he doesn't pull equipment until you're satisfied with the result.

Debris Handling Options

What happens to the material we clear? We offer several options depending on the job, county burn regulations, and your preferences.

Mulch in Place

The Hydro-Ax forestry mulcher grinds brush and small trees directly into mulch on the ground — no debris to haul, and the material feeds the soil. Best for brush clearing and light timber.

Chip On-Site

Our 175HP Vermeer AX19 chipper processes trees up to 20 inches in diameter into clean chips that stay on your property — no hauling required. Great for wooded lots where you want to keep organic material.

Burn (Where Permitted)

In unincorporated areas with open burning allowed, debris can be stacked and burned on-site. Texas Ace handles the burn permit process and monitors burns to ensure compliance with county requirements.

Haul Off

For projects where on-site processing isn't practical — especially demolition debris and large concrete pads — we can arrange haul-off to appropriate facilities. Discussed and priced during the initial estimate.
