Tree Removal
Safe, efficient tree removal using heavy equipment and a 14-inch Dymax tree shear — from single-tree removal to full acreage clearing.
At Texas Ace Land Clearing, we remove trees the right way — with purpose-built heavy equipment that handles the job safely, quickly and efficiently regardless of tree size or site conditions.
Dymax 14" Tree Shear: Our Dymax tree shear attachment is one of the most effective tools in the land clearing industry. Mounted to our CAT 289C Compact Track Loader, the shear uses two sharpened, hydraulically driven blades to cut through trees at ground level in a single squeeze. The result is a stump cut flush to grade — no grinding required in most cases. The head rotates 90 degrees, allowing our operator to neatly stack cut trees to the side of the working area for chipping or burning. This is what makes selective clearing genuinely selective: we can cut exactly the trees you want removed without disturbing roots or soil around the keepers. The shear handles hardwoods, softwoods and brush with equal ease, and its compact footprint lets us work in tight residential lots or wooded acreage that heavier equipment could not access.
CAT 314D LCR Excavator with Grapple: For large specimen trees, root balls and complex removals near structures, we deploy the CAT 314D LCR excavator fitted with a root grapple attachment. The excavator's reach and lifting capacity allow us to safely control the fall direction of large trees, extract root systems cleanly and sort debris without secondary handling. On jobs that require trenching around roots or stump excavation to a specific depth, no other piece of equipment matches the excavator's precision and power.
We remove individual trees of any size from residential and rural properties, including trees close to structures, fences or utilities. Our equipment gives us the control to take down problem trees precisely, without collateral damage to the surrounding landscape.
When a wooded property needs thinning — to reduce fire risk, improve the health of remaining trees, or create usable open space — we use the Dymax tree shear to selectively remove the trees you designate while leaving your keepers completely undisturbed. The result is a cleaner, healthier stand with improved air circulation and light penetration.
For new construction pads, pasture creation or full site development, we can clear every tree and shrub from a lot or acreage tract in a fraction of the time manual crews require. Our combination of track loader with tree shear, chipper and excavator with grapple moves through wooded acreage methodically and efficiently, leaving a clean, workable surface.
Left-behind stumps and root systems are obstacles for building, grading and mowing. We extract stumps using the excavator's hydraulic thumb and root grapple, pulling root systems cleanly from the ground so your site is genuinely clear rather than just visually cleared at the surface.
Dead, dying and structurally compromised trees are a genuine liability — particularly near homes, outbuildings, driveways and livestock areas. We identify and remove hazard trees efficiently, using the excavator's reach to safely control direction of fall even when access is tight or the tree's structural integrity is uncertain.
After hurricanes, tropical storms and severe wind events common to Southeast Texas, properties are often buried under downed timber and uprooted trees. We mobilize quickly for post-storm cleanup, using the grapple excavator and forestry mulcher to process large volumes of storm debris and restore access and usability to your property.
Selective clearing is the right choice when your property's mature trees are part of the reason you bought it. Whether you're carving out a building envelope in a wooded lot, thinning a pecan stand, or simply removing the dead and crowded trees from an otherwise healthy woods, selective clearing preserves what you value while eliminating what you don't.
Common reasons homeowners and developers choose selective clearing include HOA covenants that require a minimum percentage of tree canopy to be maintained, deed restrictions on heritage trees, wanting a shaded yard after the home is built, or simply preferring the look of a managed woodland to a bare lot.
Full clearing removes all trees, brush and above-ground vegetation from a site, leaving bare ground ready for grading, construction or agricultural use. This is the most common approach for new home builds and barndominium pads, commercial and industrial site development, pasture establishment and pond construction — any situation where the end use requires a clear, level surface across the entire site.
Full clearing is almost always more cost-effective per acre than selective clearing because our equipment can work at full speed without the precision stops required to protect standing trees. On larger tracts — 10, 20, 50 acres or more — the efficiency gains are significant. After clearing, we move directly into grading and site prep to keep your project on schedule.
